I’m curious on how people differentiate between the release management process and the SDLC. I’m assuming the SDLC is embedded in the release management process…example:

Release Mgmt might be:

Planning -> Construction -> Verification -> Production

Would SDLC fall under construction?

Hi,
List out advantage over VSS to SVN.i.e;
1) Why SVN,why not VSS?
2) Which tool whould be best among these two for testing project only?
3) List out the advanctage of SVN which we dnt have in VSS or vice versa?
Please reply as it is required to implement in project.

Here is my experience with moving from VSS to SVN:

Given the reasons why VSS can become corrupt and the fact that we were now using it remote I saw no way I could stay with it. Yes, VS2005 solves some of the problems but not all.

Ahh yes, that’s how it happens sometimes. I also came from a development background and got asked to take on this role. I’ve actually grown to like this kind of stuff better than coding features and fixing bugs – I hope you do too!
